2014 Honda City unveiled l Honda Cars India

15 years after launching the 'City' sedan in
India, Honda today did the global unveiling of the 4th generation of the car as part of plans to improve position in
the country. The company will start selling the model, to be available
both in petrol and diesel models, in India from the month of January.
"With the unveiling of the all new City, we entering a new phase
of trying to get back the dominance in the premium car segment. This is
Honda's counter attack," Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) President & CEO
Hironori Kanayama told. India has been the main market for Honda City. "The 4th generation Honda City, which would be available in
both petrol and diesel models, will take the legacy of the car
forward," Honda Motor Co Managing Officer Yoshiyuki Matsumoto said. Presently, Honda City comes with petrol engine only. It comes with 1.5 litre iVTEC engine. Honda Cars India sold 73,000 units last year and aims to market
1.20 lakh cars this year on the back of new launches. Honda will launch 3 more models, including Mobilio, in India, starting early next year.
